The basic difference between perfume and cologne is in their strength. While both perfume and cologne are made denatured ethyl alcohol and essential oils, perfume and eau de parfum contain between fifteen and twenty-two percent essential oils; eau de cologne contains only between four percent essential oils.

The major differences between perfume and cologne, therefore, are that perfume’s fragrance is stronger, and will remain fresh longer, so that it should be applied much more sparingly than cologne, which can be splashed on.

Buying Cologne and Perfume:

When buying perfume and cologne, most people do not realize that they are getting RIPPED OFF! A lot of people buy their perfume and cologne from a large fashion retailer like JCPenny or Nordstroms.

Cologne and Perfume are very cheap to make. This allows online retailers (who don’t need such a large profit margin) to sale their cologne and perfumes very cheap. If your looking to smell good and still have some money in your wallet, buy your cologne and perfume at home.
